Pavarotti to be Buried Saturday in Italy

pavarotti-to-be-buried-saturday-in-italy.jpgOpera fans around the world are mourning the death of legendary tenor Luciano Pavarotti.

The 71-year-old icon died Thursday near his hometown of Modena, Italy. Pavarotti had been battling pancreatic cancer.

On Friday, Pavarotti’s body was lying in state at a church cathedral in Modena, where it will remain until his funeral on Saturday.

Hundreds of mourners have filed past his casket to pay their respects to the superstar singer.

Pavarotti enjoyed more than 40 years of fame on the opera stage. He is survived by his second wife and child, and three daughters from his first marriage.
