The health saga of an American man from Georgia continues to grab headlines around the world. Health officials in North America and Europe are working to track his movements on a recent trip that took him throughout Europe, and into Canada.
At issue is the fact that the man, who remains unidentified, had been diagnosed with tuberculosis before leaving the U. S., and was reportedly advised not to travel. He visited at least five countries; France, Greece, Italy the Czech Republic, and Canada.
The reason for concern is that the strain of TB the man has, is an especially dangerous, drug-resistant form. Officials are eager to locate anyone who came in contact with him so that their health can be checked out.
The man is under a federally-ordered quarantine in an Atlanta hospital. He reportedly feels well and is showing no signs of the illness.
